Todd Meneely was widely regarded as one of the finest pound-for-pound wrestlers to emerge from the Midwest in the early 2000s. A product of Omaha Skutt Catholic High School, he carved his name into Nebraska wrestling history by capturing four state championships at four different weight classes—103, 112, 130, and 140 pounds. His high school career record of 144-3 reflected a level of dominance rarely seen, and his success extended nationally with freestyle and Greco junior titles that confirmed his elite status.
After high school, Meneely’s path led him briefly to the University of Iowa before he found his true collegiate home at the University of Nebraska at Omaha. Wrestling for the Mavericks, he achieved legendary status, securing three NCAA Division II national titles. Competing at 149 pounds for two seasons and later at 157 pounds, Todd finished his collegiate career with an extraordinary 85-5 record.
